Black Star Opal ships quickly and securely to most addresses within Australia and worldwide. Our shipping options are:

  • Free Standard Shipping: Orders over AUD $200 qualify for free worldwide standard shipping.
  • Free Express Shipping: Orders over AUD $1500 qualify for free worldwide express shipping.
  • Standard Shipping Fees: Orders under AUD $200 incur a shipping fee of AUD $15 within Australia and AUD $20 internationally.
  • Express Shipping Fees:
    Orders under AUD $200 incur a shipping fee of AUD $20 within Australia and AUD $40 internationally.
    Orders between AUD $200 and $1500 incur a shipping fee of AUD $10 within Australia and AUD $20 internationally.

What Shipping Services Does Black Star Opal Use?

Black Star Opal partners with Australia Post for shipping, utilising its global network including Royal Mail and Parcelforce (UK) and USPS (USA) services. Customers receive a confirmation email with a tracking number upon dispatch. Package tracking can be checked on the Australia Post website or through your country’s postal service for detailed local delivery updates.

  • Within Australia: Parcels are sent via Standard Post unless express shipping is selected.

  • International: Orders are shipped via standard Air Mail unless express shipping is chosen. 

FedEx Shipping: Upon request, Black Star Opal can ship globally through FedEx. Additional fees apply based on your location. Please contact us for more details.

How Long Will My Order Take to Arrive?

Once your order is placed, Black Star Opal aims to pack and ship it the same day. Orders received after noon AEST may ship the following business day.

      • International: Approx. 8–12 business days

  • Express Shipping:
      • Within Australia: Approx. 2–4 business days

Peak Shipping Times and Delays
Australia Post delivery estimates and do not account for any unforseen customs processing times or transit delays, including during peak gifting times such as the Christmas season. While Black Star Opal strives to dispatch orders promptly, we cannot control delivery times once the parcel is shipped. Please allow extra time for shipping during these busy gifting periods. 

How Do I Track My Order?

Once your package is shipped, please ensure you check your tracking link or number here or via your country's postal service tracking page, and any email/SMS delivery notifications regularly for updates, as Black Star Opal does not do this on your behalf.

If you have not received a shipping email, please check your junk folder in the first instance and, if you still cannot locate it, contact us and we will resend it to you. 

Do I Need to Pay International Taxes and Import Duties?

For orders shipped outside of Australia, import taxes and duties may apply. These fees are determined by your country’s customs regulations and are not covered by Black Star Opal.

  • Payment Responsibility: Any import taxes and duties must be paid directly to your local customs or postal agency, who will make contact once your package arrives in the destination country. Your parcel may be held by customs until these fees are settled. Black Star Opal does not have any control over import fees or payments, nor any customs delays associated with late or non-payment of importation fees. 

  • How to Check Fees: Contact your local customs agency before completing your purchase to understand applicable charges.

Do International Customers Pay Australian GST?

  • Outside Australia: The 10% Australian GST (Goods and Services Tax) is not applied to exported goods. The tax will be automatically deducted at checkout when a non-Australian delivery address is entered.

  • Within Australia: GST applies to all domestic orders and is included in the product price.

What If My Parcel Is Delayed, Not Moving or Lost?

If your package is delayed or appears lost, follow these steps:

  1. Contact Your Local Post Office: Provide your tracking number to check if the package is being held.

  2. Contact Your Country’s Postal Service: They can often help with additional information, locate your package or resolve local transit or customs issues.

  3. Contact Black Star Opal: If unresolved, Black Star Opal will initiate an inquiry with Australia Post. Please note Australia Post requires a 28-day waiting period to investigate missing parcels.

Please note packages are scanned multiple times during shipment, which updates the tracking journey information. At peak shipping times scanning can be missed and a package may appear to not be moving but is actually in transit to you

Refunds: Refunds for lost or stolen parcels will only be processed after Australia Post confirms the parcel’s status. Black Star Opal cannot issue refunds for items in transit or delivered to unsafe locations.

Please note Black Star Opal is not liable for any loss, theft or damage of your package once it has been delivered.

Is My Purchase Insured During Delivery?

All parcels, domestic and international, are insured free of charge through Australia Post against theft, loss or damage.

What If My Purchase Is Damaged During Shipping?

If your item arrives damaged, contact Black Star Opal immediately to arrange a resolution.

Can I Change My Order?

If you need to modify your order, email info@blackstaropal.com as soon as possible with your name, order number, and details of the change. If the order has not yet shipped, adjustments may be possible. Once shipped, orders cannot be cancelled or refunded while in transit.

Can I Send a Gift?

Yes, Black Star Opal offers gift delivery, including gift wrapping upon request. Ensure the recipient’s address is safe for delivery, as packages requiring signatures may be delayed if no one is available to sign.
