As you might have guessed, we think opals are pretty special and it’s great to know so many other people do too! We’ve come across some wonderful sayings about opal, many of which capture that je ne sais quoi that makes it one of the world’s most loved and unique gemstones.
You might be familiar with our first quote, which sums up the essence of an opal better than any other we've seen, and it’s really quite moving and beautiful too. If only we knew who wrote it!

This next quote is short but very sweet, summing up the depth of intrigue opal embodies.

This saying about opal pairs it with diamond, a great accompaniment for opal in any jewellery setting. We think the meaning of the quote is not quite as literal as it first seems.

And lastly, a few words from our favourite English bard who likens a changeable mind of a character in one of his most famous works of literature to opal’s ever-changing play-of-colour.
